2013 - 2024
Transformation of a World War II anti-aircraft bunker into a green public space in the center of Hamburg.
Born in Hamburg, Mathias Müller-Using grew up in Germany, Mexico and Chile.
In 1998, together with his partner, he founded the agency NORDPOL+, known for its numerous Lions at the Cannes Creative Festival and its work for Renault, DACIA and IKEA. With INTER±POL Studios, he laid the foundation for interdisciplinary projects in the fields of design and architecture.
The architectural work first led the passionate soccer fan to a completely different kind of soccer club: the opposite pole at FC St. Pauli.
With the STADTGARTEN on the bunker, he developed the idea and the architectural concept for a new green and publicly accessible place in Hamburg's St. Pauli district for the Heiligengeistfeld. Later, he brought the American EXPO Pavilion from Milan to Hamburg's Stadtdeich and founded and named the innovation site HAMMERBROOKLYN.
Mathias Müller-Using is co-founder of the MUT Urban Trust Foundation and founder and CEO of INTER±POL Studios.
